Tips, Suggestions and Additional Information

Hair:

If you go to a salon on the day of your photo session be sure to schedule enough time after your appointment to dress, apply make-up, and drive to the studio. Be sure the salon will take you on time and give yourself a little extra time for delays. Do not try a new hairstyle on the day of your session! Do bring a brush or comb for last minute touch-ups. Arrive at your session with your hair and make-up exactly as you want them. You will be much more relaxed if you are not rushed.

Makes-Up:

Bring face powder to reduce shine. Even if you do not wear make-up normally wear a little bit for your photographs.

Women Hands:

Hands should be well groomed and fingernails polished, some poses will show them in your portraits.

Clothing:

Solid color outfits photograph better then prints or strips; avoid heavy sweaters or big floral prints. You want to choose your clothing one week in advance. When two or more will be in your photographs it is very important to coordinate your clothing so everybody looks good together.

Poses:

Look for poses you may like online or in magazines and bring them into the studio to show the photographer.

Props:

Please feel free to bring any special items to your photo session. Hats, sun glasses, musical instruments, letterman jackets, teddy bears, and heirloom items are some of our suggestions. Our goal is to make your photo session about who you are, not who we are.

Guests and Friends:

Guests and friends are welcome to attend your photo session as long as they do not make you nervous.
